Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using The NFC Mint websites, products, apps, and services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These are the canonical terms for all of The NFC Mint's websites, apps, and services, and the version published on this page at https://www.nfcmint.com/terms is the authoritative version.
Service Description
The NFC Mint LLC provides StampCats collectibles, OnceMark tag packs, and TamperKit seal packs. Our apps are NFC Proof, NFC Utils, OnceMark, TamperKit, and StampCats. Our cryptographic validation service verifies the authenticity of tags registered with The NFC Mint LLC through URL-based validation and mobile app scans, including scans in NFC Proof.
Product Orders and Sales
Orders for products or services are subject to availability and acceptance. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders at our discretion. Pricing, product specifications, and availability are subject to change without notice.
Service Availability
All products include 3 years of validation service unless otherwise specified. While we strive for maximum uptime, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or that it will be error-free. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice. Service uptime and validation server availability are not guaranteed.
Payment Terms
Payment is required prior to order fulfillment unless alternative arrangements have been made. We accept payment methods as specified during the ordering process. All prices are in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.
Shipping and Delivery
Shipping times and costs vary based on order size, destination, and shipping method selected. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers or customs. Risk of loss passes to the buyer upon delivery to the carrier.
Returns and Refunds
Due to the security-sensitive nature of our products, returns are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Defective products may be eligible for replacement or refund. Contact us at support@nfcmint.com to initiate a return request.
User Responsibilities
Users of the validation service are responsible for:
• Ensuring their device's NFC functionality is working correctly
• Using the Service only for legitimate authentication purposes
• Not attempting to reverse engineer, circumvent, or compromise the security of the Service
• Not using automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service
• Scanning tags in appropriate conditions with compatible devices
Validation Results
Validation results provided by the Service indicate whether a tag's cryptographic signature matches our records. However, validation results should not be the sole basis for purchasing decisions. Users should employ multiple verification methods when assessing authenticity.
StampCats
StampCats provides a location-based digital stamp collection service authenticated through NXP NTAG 424 DNA NFC tags. Each stamp is verified through multi-layered security including AES-CMAC cryptographic validation, factory chip authentication, GNSS location verification, and real-time abuse detection. All digital passports are publicly accessible and associated with the respective NFC tag's UID.
No Account Required
StampCats operates on a pseudo-anonymous basis. StampCats does not require account creation, login credentials, email address, Apple ID, or Google account. Your digital passport is identified exclusively by your NFC tag's unique cryptographic identifier. By using StampCats, you acknowledge that you are responsible for physical possession and security of your NFC tag.
Public Passport Data
By using StampCats, you expressly acknowledge and agree that your stamp collection, including all locations visited, dates, times, geographic coordinates, and associated metadata, will be publicly viewable via a URL associated with your tag's unique identifier. This public visibility is an intentional and fundamental feature of StampCats. Anyone with knowledge of your tag UID can view your complete passport history. Do not use StampCats if you wish to keep your travel history, location data, or stamping activity private. There is no mechanism to make your passport private after stamps have been collected.
Location Data and Verification
StampCats collects location data only when you actively choose to add a stamp and explicitly consent to location access. Location verification is performed using multiple GNSS services (including GPS, GLONASS, and other satellite positioning systems) in conjunction with platform location services (Apple Core Location on iOS and Google Play services location on Android) to verify your physical presence at a location. We employ spoof detection and jailbreak and root detection to maintain system integrity. You are responsible for the accuracy of location data. We are not responsible for incorrect location data caused by GNSS inaccuracy, atmospheric interference, device malfunction, or user error.
Cryptographic Validation
StampCats validates NFC tags using NTAG 424 DNA cryptographic signatures, including AES-CMAC validation, monotonic counter verification, factory ECC originality signatures, and validation server key verification. Validation results indicate whether a tag's cryptographic signature is authentic and whether security checks have passed. StampCats does not guarantee the safety, legality, accessibility, or appropriateness of any physical location associated with a stamp.
User-Generated Locations
Locations and stamps on individual passports constitute user-generated content. We do not create, endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, safety, legality, accessibility, or appropriateness of any user-generated location. Always verify the safety and correctness of listed stampable places before traveling. You visit locations entirely at your own risk.
StampCats Responsibilities
In addition to the general responsibilities above, StampCats users must ensure their device has functional NFC capabilities and location services, must not attempt to spoof, manipulate, or falsify location data, must not jailbreak, root, or modify their device to bypass security measures, must not collect stamps through automated means, and must respect private property, follow local laws, and ensure personal safety when visiting locations.
